‘IN UNION WE SHALL CONQUER’

When Suva forced the arbiter of its the Farebrother Cup defense against Nadi in late 2005 with the import of Auckland Rugby Union’s Referee, it made a statement of its desire to enhance professional rugby within the country’s largest Union and indeed in Fiji.

By early 2006 the Auckland Rugby Referees Association welcomed a request by the Suva Rugby Union for a team of Suva Rugby Referees Association on attachment with various Clubs in Auckland, to understudy their counterparts. And in 2007, the Executive Officers of the Suva Rugby Union again made a similar visit to Auckland.

We have since had eyes only for the future.

In 2007 the Suva Rugby Union launched its long yearned open wish to establish professionalism of the sport in the capital with commitment and this has really been the platform that has allowed for the development of a strategic plan for the realization of our intent.
